The August 24, 2008 [rerun] episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featured the Martinez family of Albuquerque, NM. The family sacrificed their comfortable lives in the mountains in CO. They moved to downtown Albuquerque, NM to start a homeless mission in a section of the city called ‘The Warzone.’ The neighborhood has drastically changed b/c of what the Martinez family has done. Very inspiring!

The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew actually tear-down 12 buildings in this episode. And build a new residence for the family, a community center, & a community living area.
