Calvary Assembly of God celebrates its 55th year this year. There have been many changes throughout the years. And I reflect on all the changes I have made in the database ministry in my short time here. I started thinking about more changes, I started thinking how Calvary will change, how the database will change.

And, so ‘I think it’s time we look into the future, the distant future, my friends… all the way to the year 3000!’

In the year 3000…in the year 3000…

in their latest effort to try to stay on the cutting edge of the social networking phenomena, Calvary creates an mIRC chat channel.

in the year 3000…

electronic chips will be embedded into people. As soon as they enter the sanctuary door, they will be marked as present and a tithe will be deducted from their checking accounts.

in the year 3000…

the Creative Arts Ministry will split-off and become a wholly-owned subsidiary. They will have mini-productions every Sunday before 830A & 11A services, funneling the newly ‘got saved’ directly into Calvary.

in the year 3000…

to avoid further confusion after several name changes, Christian Education classes will be permanently renamed . But will be referred to as ‘the classes formerly known as RACE.’

in the year 3000…

the CCC will not yet be certified to be occupied to full capacity.

in the year 3000…

the Trail Guide, Welcome Book, Phone Directory, Playbill, and CARE brochure  will be combined into one all-encompassing publication. It will be full-color and glossy. But to save paper, it will only be published quarterly.

in the year 3000…

Every ministry will be combined into one large ministry named UMBRELLA. Which stands for United, Ministering, Body, Relationships, Exalted, Loving, Leveraging, Accepting. Calvary’s new theme will be ‘Get Under the God Umbrella.’ And they will launch the website GetUnderTheGodUmbrella.com

in the year 3000…

Calvary will still use color-coded attendance folders for class attendance and offering. But they will be delivered and collected using robots.

in the year 3000…

the website will look like it has for 5 years. But it will have better banner ads.

in the year 3000…

the Attendance / Connection will include a 3 page questionnaire for guests including questions like:

List names and attendance statistics of previous churches attended.
